All Quiet on the Western Front (1930) Collection (7 oversized prints)

All Quiet on the Western Front (1930) Collection (7 oversized prints)

This amazing collection features seven oversized (10.75x14") original prints from the 1930 classic film adaptation of Erich Maria Remarque's All Quiet on the Western Front. These print's large size help bring the cinematic shots to life.

A seminal piece of world history, this graphic film defied many aspects of Production Code in an attempt to show an unvarnished depiction of the atrocities of WWI. For example, The scene where a soldier grabs a strand of barbed wire and then is blown up by an artillery shell, leaving only his hands still grabbing the barbed wire, was told to director Lewis Milestone by a former German soldier working as an extra, who saw that happen during a French attack on his position during the war. Milestone used it in the film.

Prints are in good condition, with small amounts of edge and corner wear. Also mild curling at top and bottom edges.
