Governor FDR Campaigns for President (1932) (oversize)
Governor FDR Campaigns for President (1932) (oversize)
An amazing oversize (18x10") capture of then Governor of New York Franklin Delano Roosevelt campaigning for President in late 1932. Taken in a packed Eagles Club in Milwaukee, the large format of the print helps convey the magnitude of the moment: some the first steps taken by FDR in his effort to become one of the great American presidents.
From the archive of the Milwaukee Journal, it could potentially be one of, if not the, only print of this size of this occasion. Prints of this part of Roosevelt's career are rare compared to those of him after his ascension to the presidential office.
Print has been torn but very nicely repaired, presumably by the newspapers' archivists. It presents very well.
