Thomas Dewey Collection (3 vintage oversize prints)

Thomas Dewey Collection (3 vintage oversize prints)

A nice collection of three vintage oversize prints of Thomas Dewey at work. Leading the Republican party as a moderate governor of New York 1953 to 1954, Dewey was most famous for his stance against organized crime in New York, and was heralded for his prosecution of Charles "Lucky" Luciano. He also lost the presidential election in 1948 to Harry Turman in a large upset.

Two prints are on 11x14" photographic paper. The studio portrait has edge/corner wear the affects a small portion of the top left corner, but the main printed area is in excellent shape. The print of Dewey at work is very faded and has some surface defects, but is still a fine capture of the politician. Lastly there is a large version of the studio portrait on thinner 12x18" paper, with lots of surface markings visible in scan, and folded in the middle. Physically in very good shape for its age.
